Okay Oct 21, 2011
By ~Melissa This notebook is very cute, but it is a lot smaller than I realized (I should have read the dimensions). It will not stay closed without the pen in place, so I guess that helps you keep track of the pen. Paper seemed really thin and cheap too.

Handy Sep 27, 2010
By C. Caldwell It's a notebook with a metal case. What more could you want? It fits nicely into almost any size purse, and the case with pen built in means your paper doesn't get wrinkled and your pen stays easy to find.
I bought this one as a gift after receiving one myself - it's a pretty and practical gift.
My only concern is how refillable it really is- in a few years when I need new paper/pens I wonder how easily I'll be able to find them. It does come with a refill notebook.

By k in Texas Purchased one for myself and loved it. So I purchase a total of 6 additional flip notes and gave as gifts. Well received by all.

"The Mighty"
After years of carrying around little memo books, I saw this in a shop and decided it looked like a cool upgrade. The benefit over memo pads is that this is smaller (maybe too small, depending on what you want it for) and made of metal, so it's durable. It's more likely to damage something in your purse than be damaged. That being said, I think my keys scraped some of the decal off. Oh well. I've gotten lots of complements on it. It's very handsome, and using it makes you look kind of professional.
It's very handy. The hinge has a spring so its automatically tries to open, but the pen holds it shut, so it's hard to lose. It's small, though, like a smartphone stylus, so it might be hard to write with if you have bigger hands. The notepad sheets tear off so it's easy to clear out old notes when you're done with them. You can buy refills with lined paper (the default is unlined), which sounds good to me. I use it mostly for little To-Do lists or shopping lists. It's easy to keep on hand, so you can write stuff down as you think of it, even if you're eating lunch or riding the bus or something. If you don't mind that it's small, it's a nice thing to carry around with you.

By slinkylink I have three of these: one in my purse, one in the car, and one in my computer bag. For someone who loses pens all the time, this is perfect.
