I wanted a meowing cat for my daughters first birthday. She loves our real cat, but unfortunately our cat doesn't feel the same about her! When we read books she loves when I "meow" like a cat! This is now her favorite toy! She even carries it around like a security blanket to the store, doctors office, etc. She laughs and giggles when the cat meows.
PROS
*cat is perfect size for a small child to hold/carry
*essentially a stuffed animal with a little sound box inside, so no hard parts for a child to get hurt on.
*meowing sound is easy to activate(with a gentle squeeze) and sounds fairly realistic
*no moving parts (like other kitties I considered) so nothing can break!
*excellent price
CONS
*I would love it if the sound box could be removed so the cat could go in washer, only a week old and fairly dirty. Instructions say to spot clean, which I did and it works well.
*Cats eyes are small hard plastic, which I would imagine could come off. They seem to be on well, but I would prefer the eyes to be embroidered on so I wouldn't have to worry about my daughter swallowing them (god forbid if they came off they are small enough I think she would just swallow them and not choke) but I still keep an eye on her when she has the cat.

I searched all over for a kitten toy for my niece who is 1 year old. All the kittens I found that meowed were hard and not cuddly. I am so glad I found this one! She is so soft and cute and my niece loves her! She is easy to squeeze to make her meow which is great for little ones.
