I purchased this toy for my great niece (20 months & sharp as a tack) after she spent several days with us. She fell in love with the squirrels that we have around our yard and got into the habit of feeding them peanuts every day. Although we did not allow her to get too close to them, she certainly did enjoy filling the bowl with the nuts and waiting for the squirrels to arrive and run off with some of the peanuts and stay near to eat others. They did put on quite a show for her. After she left I called and spoke to her grandmother on the phone and she said that Illyauna just couldn't talk enough about the squirrels that she saw at Auntie Squirrel's place. She has the toy by her side at all times and puts peanuts in it's hands. The toy is great, a valuable learning tool, and has piqued the child's interest in other creatures out doors. It is soft and safe and easy for those little hands to carry around. Just a cool, inexpensive gift for an adventurous little one.

Seriously. Not sure what you're expecting, but the title of the product pretty much says it all. It's an about 8" tall plush squirrel. Rather soft. Adorable.

Cute realistic squirrel to get Veruca Oct 27, 2010

My son loves the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, especially the scene where Veruca is pushed down the garbage chute by the squirrels. This squirrel looks real enough to make a good nut room squirrel. It was a perfect gift for pretending to be Veruca while sliding down a slide. He just wishes that he had another 99 of them. BTW the top of the tail is stitched to the back of the squirrel which my son did not like; we just clipped a couple of threads to detach it which made the tail flop out back somewhat and slightly to one side, but even with this change the squirrel can still balance sitting up. The squirrel is very soft and makes a good bedtime companion (a similar texture to a pillow pet). The "fur" on the tail is longer than on the rest of the body, and this fur is even softer. The paws, muzzle, and ears are a non-fluffy fabric that it still soft. Some of the black color did scratch off the squirrel's eyes with rough play, but otherwise the squirrel has held up very well.

I bought the red and grey squirrels to go with a "Miss Suzy" book. They are very good quality with super soft "fur".

My nephew requested a realistic squirrel from Santa. Needless to say, the search was on! Noone could find one. We searched for months prior to Christmas. Then I remembered [...]. I found the perfect squirrel, had it shipped to my Nephew directly, and he is one happy little guy. He carries it around with him everywhere he goes, even on family trips.
