Works great, but quality? Feb 28, 2010 A friend gave me one of these a couple years ago. It worked great to make loads of foam for morning lattes. I also used it for foaming milk for hot chocolate, etc.
I used it an average of five days a week, and I was very careful with it. It quit working about a month ago, and I opened up the plastic housing to see if a connection was loose or something. Couldn't find anything I could fix, though. I love the idea of the frother, and I checked out reviews of various brands. Most people liked this one the best, so I ordered another. Got the new one very quickly, but I'm disappointed that the housing now will not open for service. No screws, just molded together.
I guess I get really frustrated with the 'make it cheap and throw it away' mentality. I hate waste and one shouldn't have to trash something that just needs a small part. That wastes resources, fills up landfills, and adds more pollution to our planet. I'd give it a five if it lasted longer and had replaceable parts.
Totally useless Feb 21, 2010 I made the mistake of buying a 'used' one. It never worked, even with multiple tries with different sets of batteries. Yes, I had the batteries inserted correctly. Would only buy one with the 5-year warranty.
Great frother! Feb 20, 2010 This is a great little frother and works very well. My only real concern is the construction of the motor housing unit. The frothing coil and stem are study metal, but the motor unit is plastic. It needs to be treated gently because it doesn't seem terribly sturdy (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars.) I just store it in its case so it won't get bumped in the kitchen. The carrying case is also very handy if you want to travel with it.
However, the Aerolatte does exactly what it says and makes great froth. Be aware that according to Aerolatte's website, you should either froth very cold milk or milk that is very warm (but has not boiled). They specifically say that room temp milk does not froth well. I heat mine in the microwave for about 30 seconds until it is very warm and then froth it. Then I pour coffee into it to make a delicious cappuccino. Yum!
LOVE IT! Feb 15, 2010 Just got this in a few days ago and my whole family loves it. I have used the included recipes to make milkshakes, lattes, coffee drinks. It works great and I love the case. I keep it in the drawer right under my coffee brewer. I can't believe I lived without this device so long!
all in one Feb 01, 2010 Like this frother especially because of the "cover" which comes with it. The frother itself is a bit fragile and the plastic cover helps protect it from breaking. Love my frother for my individual lattes in the morning. Great for hot chocolate for the little ones.
